Assateague State Park will be holding a fun and free  Youth Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 19th from 10 am to 1 pm.

All youth participants; who are 16 and under are free and get the chance to learn fishing techniques and try their hand at surf fishing alongside Assateague State Park employees who will be on hand to instruct participants in proper fishing methods for the surf. Fishing equipment will be provided but is limited so participants should bring their own equipment if possible. Prizes will be rewarded and COVID-19 safety precautions will be followed to ensure a fun and safe day of fishing at the beach! 

 

Registration: Begins at 9:30 am 

Will be on the day use boardwalk by the Nature Nook.

 

Fishing will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and prizes will be awarded at 12:30 pm
