Assateague State Park will be holding their annual Youth Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 16th , 2018 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  This event is free for all; participants must be children 16 and under. Participants will get the chance to learn fishing techniques from local experts from Assateague Mobile Sportfishermen’s Association (AMSA) who will be on hand to instruct participants in proper fishing methods for the surf. Surf rescue demonstrations and nature exhibits will also be on display. Fishing equipment will be provided but is limited so participants should bring their own equipment if possible. With your registration, AMSA is providing a free hot dog lunch and you have the chance to win prizes for your catch!  So get the family outdoors for this FREE fun event!
