- First Floor Guest Rooms
This colorful and bright corner room is a favorite of many guests not due to the turn-of-the century historic significance of the room, but rather to the Hollywood history. In the late 1990’s, a movie entitled “Runaway Bride” was made in Berlin and this room was used by Richard Gere in the movie. Ten years later, fans are still visiting and taking photos of the “Gere” room. The impressive mahogany designed headboard is center to the room. Dressed in 100% white cotton hand-ironed sheeting, down comforter and feather mattress topper with lots of pillows, the bed takes on a very inviting appearance. Cloisonné lamps flank the bed. A paisley tufted arm chair and ottoman, a small antique pigeon-hole desk and decorative straight back chair, and lamp stand opposite the bed. Two large windows with lace curtains and striped tie back draperies grace the striped wallpaper. A large mahogany dresser and over-sized mirror fit into the guest room with grace and formality. A 26-inch flat screen TV is wall mounted opposite the bed. A beautiful silk striped arm chair sits beside the bed and small round table.
The bathroom has a built in marble top vanity, full size shower stall and commode. The Beiderboard trim along with a full size window with lace and festoons, bathroom amenities, and fluffy white cotton terry toweling and Spa robes complete the bathroom guest experience.
